Thank you for this opportunity to introduce you to our office and our
philosophy. To better prepare for the first visit, it is important that
you know what to expect when you arrive for your child’s dental
appointment.
The first visit at the dentist’s office is an adventure for young
children. They will discover many things about their teeth and themselves.
Some children will come in excited and some will feel apprehensive. By
choosing a Pediatric Dentist, you are taking an important first step in
creating a positive dental attitude for your child. With specialty training
and a fun environment, we hope to give your child a good dental experience,
starting at a very young age.
To ensure that you have all the information you need, we promise to answer
all your questions and speak candidly with you about your child’s
symptoms, treatments and our recommendations. Working together, we can
keep your child’s smile beautiful and healthy, with quality care
that fits into your budget. In addition to filing insurance forms for
you, we offer the dental fee plan and gladly accept Master Card, Visa,
Discover, and American Express. Our staff will be happy to assist you
with any questions you have.
Before the first visit, be prepared to complete all insurance and health
information forms that will allow us to begin your child’s dental
treatment. You may get a head start on this process by downloading the
new patient forms from this website to fill them out before you come.
Parent Guidelines
We invite you to stay with your child during the initial examination.
During future appointments, we suggest you allow our staff to accompany
your child through the dental experience. We do encourage self independence
to help promote the growth and development of your child. Our purpose
is to gain your child’s confidence and overcome apprehension. For
safety and privacy of patients all others, children that are not scheduled
at this appointment, are asked to remain in the reception room. Young
children in the reception room will need a supervisory adult.
Additionally, the use of cellular phones is prohibited in the operatory.
The extra conversation carried on by others in the clinical area can be
most distracting to children, preventing us from close, careful communication
with each young patient. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Practice Terminology
When we talk with children about dental care, we are careful to use words
that create a positive and relaxed mind set. In other words, we use friendly
terms and try to avoid words that might sound scary. You can help your
child have a good first visit by also talking about dentists and dental
care in a very positive but general manner. Download
