Dr. Blanding graduated from Anchor Bay High School in New Baltimore, Michigan and then continued her education at the University of Detroit in Detroit, Michigan earning a BA in Chemistry. Dr. Blanding graduated from the Northwestern University Dental School in Chicago, Illinois and completed her training at the General Residency Program at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital, Bronx NY. Dr. Blanding then received her Certificate of Pediatric Dentistry from Columbia University School of Dental Surgery. She has practiced in the Pediatric field for over 15 years. Dr. Blanding enjoys hospital privileges and serves on the Executive Committee at Carolinas Healthcare System, University Hospital.
Dr. Blanding is an ardent supporter of children in need and volunteers her time and services for several charitable causes. She is the Head Start liaison for Rowan and Cabarrus Counties and volunteers for Bright Smiles, Bright Future a program that reaches at risk children and provides free dental screenings and oral health education. Finally she volunteers annually for Give Kids A Smile and North Carolina Missions of Mercy, outreach programs that that provide access to care.
Dr. Blanding has two daughters and devotes her time to traveling, cooking and supporting the arts. She sits on the Board at The McColl Center for Visual Arts, as well The Mint Museum of Art where she serves as the Chair of Craft and Design. Dr. Blanding feels passionate about what she does because she believes in making a difference in the lives of children. Whether it is by being a role model to others or by easing a child’s pain and making them comfortable and happy when going to the dentist, Dr. Blanding is committed to the patients she serves.
