ATKINS was recently spotlighted in this feature in the Washington Post. The article highlights how North Carolina was the first state in America to allow dogs with special training into dental exam rooms. That certification is what separates “service” dogs from “facility” dogs. Whereas service dogs are trained to help one person, a facility dog is trained to help multiple people. ATKINS completed 600 training hours through paws4people® Foundation, a non-profit organization based in Wilmington, N.C.
As soon as that article was printed, we were surprised to see it receive a mention on Live with Kelly and Ryan. With that, ATKINS had made her small screen national debut.
