Dr. Amanda Kerns
Amanda Kerns, DDS, MS, Diplomate
A longtime children’s basketball coach, Dr. Amanda discovered her passion for pediatric dentistry during a service trip to Costa Rica. While in dental school, Dr. Amanda researched and co-authored several studies on the links between pregnancy and infant oral health. Her master’s thesis focused on identifying strategies for addressing the epidemic of early childhood caries, a cause she has remained very passionate about. From 2018 to 2020, she worked as one of only three pediatric dentists on the island of Kauai, Hawaii. As her family grew to include her son, she and her husband moved back home to Charlotte to be closer to our family.
